Started the 1st 2 days of the new semester. As usual, the first week has no tutorials but was still real busy for the past 2 days and attended 5 lectures already. The tiring part was queue-ing up for the notes and printing them.... The library and the photocopying shop is always as packed in the 1st week!!
Something good in this new semester though, there was new stalls at the canteen and Mac just opened a branch, now NTU has got Cafe Cartel, Coffee Club Xpress and McDonalds. However the best food still has gotta be the new Jap food stall at canteen A. Their meal was so good I have eaten that for the past 2 days!
Other than that the campus is more vibrant now with new schools opening and new student activities centre. Sigh, this is my last year in NTU... Gonna start to be really busy with my FYP and other projects soon, lucky the 1st few weeks has got a lot of Union and Universit events. There's the flag day tomorrow so it's a chance to catch the movie I.Robot on the theatres especially since the price is cheaper on weekdays.

Now the holidays for NTU students are over. Will be getting back to NTU for my last year tomorrow.... sigh .... will definitely suffer from Monday Blues again!!!
However this holiday though short was spent wisely. There was the trip to Indonesia and shopping done in Jakarta. Stayed at the Menara Peninsula in Jakarta with Dad, Mum and my bro. Then we shopped at Plaza Senayan, Taman Anggrek and ITC on the 17th to the 19th of July.
Returned to Singapore on the 19th and got the beautiful Merc SL-class replica at the MB duty free shop at Changi Airport. Amazing model with a fully functional roof top, definitely my best model car ever!!! Then it was off to return my library books, and settle my brother's student visa and air ticket to Vancouver, will be missing him when he leaves.
Finally the grand finale to the holidays, the much awaited trip to Redang. we left Singapore at 10 pm and reached Kuala Terenganu at 630 am, then it was a long wait for the ferry which arrived at 930am, when the 3 hours can be used for swimming or snorkelling.
The first day at our resort, the Berjaya Redang Beach Resort was spent with an hour's of kayaking and swimming at the beach. Redang is truly an amazing island, the best I have been to. The beaches are clean to the extent you can see the sea bed and the crests of the sand. The sand is the most wonderful, it is soft to the feet. Wonder where else I would experience such beautiful beaches. The best thing is this island is not too over-commercialized and meals (breakfast and dinner) was provided at the resort. Though the resort is quite expensive, it was worth it for the ambience and the extraordinary location.
The highlight of the stay for me gotta be the snorkelling trip at the Marine Park and the Bays around Redang. Everyone should visit Redang for this!! You can truly experience the beauty of marine life with fishes flocking around you while you savour the beauty of the corals.  Amazing, it just lets you relax in the sea and see what we normally would have experienced only in Discovery Channel.
After 2 nights we headed back to Singapore and if the opportunity arises, I would like to return to Redang some day. Though I would maybe take a plane next time. The bus ride is just too long and tiring, especially after going through the Lampung-Jakarta ferry and ride.
So its time to rest this sunny sunday for enough energy to be awake during lectures tomorrow. Have 4 lectures tomorrow and 3 are in the morning!!! =<

It has been quite some time since my last post. There is a reason since I returned to my hometown in Lampung, Indonesia, which I guess many of you would not know where to locate it on the atlas. Anyway, the internet connection there is real slow (56K) so it has taken quite some time to write this post, due to my impatience.
This trip is mainly for me to eat, play and sleep. It's the holidays you know, what else do you expect one to do? Ate quite a lot of the stuffs I miss, like Martabak (Bangka style), Mutton Satay and Soup, Fried and BBQ seafood. Start to drool already? There was also the occasional trip to suburbs to look at swallow houses, actually these are just 3-4 storey buildings for swallow to build bird's nest in and the owners can then harvest them for sale. Sounds like good money right, since bird's nest can be equated to the food equivalent of gold.
One special event when I went back to Lampung was a new opening of a hotel on Bukit Randu, which is on the summit of a hill overlooking the city. My dad got free hotel vouchers for 2 rooms which was not bad. So we took this opportunity to try out the hotel for one night, inclusive of breakfast. Not bad really, for a small town like Lampung. However one bad point of the hotel is its mosquitoes, they really ought to handle this problem!!
Will be going to Jakarta on Saturday the 17th and then its time to shop there before returning to Singapore on the 19th

One week long... before this much needed update of web blog! It has been a busy week for me! First my uncle and his family came over from Indonesia and have been sending my uncle and grandma around to get their stuffs. Then there's also the trip to banks etc.
Last weekend, I still managed to get some shopping done. Got a couple of books from Kinokuniya in Ngee Ann City and it was a good buy since I got the cutouts of 20% discount from Straits Times.
And the best part was I finally got the Crumpler Bag I had been eyeing for some time. Used up some of my IA pay on that I guess, but it was worth it, guess Crumpler bags are the coolest kind of bags in the planet now!!
Another good part of this week was the screening of Spiderman 2 and watched that movie at GV Plaza yesterday night. It was a full house but the movie was great. Simply different from the normal comic book movies. This one isn't just about fighting the bad guys but also about human emotions to show super-humans are still humans after all, as shown that they still need to wash their spidey costume!! (Got this sentence inspired by SDK). Anyway enjoyed myself yesterday and we had dinner at Cafe Cartel and talked abt some fun stuffs and all that!
Also a good week overall, since the share price in Informatics rebounded and sold off my holdings at 0.395 which reaped good profits for me. Then today the shares moved up to 0.470, but I was still content with what I got..... (Never get too greedy in shares)
Had another day of shopping again today, got Teva flip-flops, for slacking in hall next sem =P and bought some gifts for my parents since my IA has come to an end! Also met up with TYH to pay him for the Redang trip and had lunch with him before I go off to Indonesia!!
