Late update for the long weekend! Basically this weekend is a time for relaxation and enjoyment! Yes, since it will be the last long weekend before I get busy again for my assignments to be due end of next week. Furthermore, the exams are coming soon so better enjoy now while I can right?
Arranged an outing to meet my JC classmates to go to Marina for movie and dinner on Friday night! Went to watch Miss Congeniality 2 and the show was good, gives a great laugh and really relieves stress, lol! And again had the same debate about god and religion, but as the atheist that I was, I am still doubtful about the usefulness and correct-ness of religion so pardon me all those religious people out there!
For saturday I tried to cook a new recipe for my Baby Lamb Chops that I bought on Thursday and I bought the MasterFoods spices which includes Rosemary and Oregano leaves and it turned out fine. I added some Worchestershire Sauce and Soy Sauce for taste as well. Then the lamb was pan-fried with black pepper! Sounds yummy right? Don't drool ok! Yeah it was good, and also intend to make spaghettis (Pastamania's Bacon Aglio style) when I go overseas, since it will be convenient and healthy! (but importantly it will also be cheaper and more hygienic!) Went to get new shavers (Gillette Mach 3 Turbo) and VCDs (Warriors of the Yang Clan) and watched the first 2 episodes already. Damn another addictive drama serials I got on my hands. But I have a 3 weeks break to study 3 modules, and I guess I might just finish this serial in one week man, trust me the show is really that good! (cos it's a Chinese historical martial arts epic which suits me just fine), and somehow I got addicted to Starbucks Iced Caramel Machhiato they just taste damn good!

Reports Reports Reports!!! That's all that has been on my mind these past few days. Too preoccupied with them, and well now I just need to complete one more chapter and I am ready to print my report!!! Oh forgot about the appendix though.......
But then after this report there's the other one for M495, and the M477 one as well and there's the M487 quiz...... Well lucky for me there's the long weekend ahead, at least I wont be so rushed. Well I cant sleep well yesterday night, there was so much mosquitoes after my blood!!! Damn it!!! That's the drawback of staying in hall I guess. I just hope I graduate soon enough then I can go off for my trip to Germany and go snowboarding in Canada again. I kinda miss my siblings and my parents and of course all the fun I could have there!! But for now its time to really work hard for my last semester and really enjoy my last few months being an undergrad!!! 4 years and that life's over, time just flies so fast, and students are kept too busy..... if only there was more time, just for us to enjoy the scenery and breathe in the luxuries of life, thinking of all the good ol' times. Won't it just be so relaxing and beautiful?

Another week is coming to a close and I am still stuck with my FYP report! I have also discovered the presence of many China-bashers in the net. My cousin in Shanghai sent me this link about a discussion forum with a part designed for discussion of China's issues and have been going there quite often to participate in the discussion and clearing misconceptions of "communism" in China.
Anyway had a relatively busy week, with celebration of Waichee's birthday on Thursday at Swensens and then going out with my uncle who came to visit Singapore. I brought my uncle to look at the newly built properties along district 9, including the Grange Residences and Ardmore Park. Then I also showed him around the central business district. Had La Mian for dinner on wednesday night with him and lunch at Sanur on friday before I sent him off to the Airport. Well it is my turn to show him around a city I am familiar with after all the hospitality he has given me and my family when I was in Vancouver and Shanghai.
Intend to go out with friends today for Karaoke and have a nice feast but I think it might be cancelled since some are still busy with their report and other stuffs. Next week I guess...

The Panorama Run in Cypress Posted by Hello

Yeah! Finally the quiz that I dread most is over! No more Fluids Eng. until the exams are coming at least..... Now I can really concentrate on my FYP report. The quiz earlier wasn't too bad, considering I didn't study much, just hope I wont fare too badly. Went browsing around Lee Wee Nam Library just now after my quiz and realized that they had a rather noteworthy collection of travel guides and especially one that I was interested in was the "Rough Guide to Skiing and Snowboarding in North America". I tried to borrow it but then the book was for reference only. Shucks!!! NTU's library lacks good books, they really need to do better. Seems like they prefer to encourage students to use the net to look up for references and anything else, from the amount of computers in the library.
I think I will go down to the library to read up on the travel guides, since I want to go on a graduation trip, preferably to Germany. Intend to coincide my trip to fall on the same time as the Frankfurt Auto Show (so that I can drop by at the auto show!!!). They will be showcasing the latest Porsche Coupe (the Cayman), Mercedes New S-Class, maybe the new X5, and Audi's new SUV. If I were to go Germany, my main trip will definitely encompass the VW factory, Stuttgart (Home of Mercedes and Porsche), Ingolstadt (Audi's HQ), Munich (BMW's HQ) and maybe a side trip to Modena (Ferrari and Lamborghini). Now the tough part is trying to find a car nut to go along with me for this trip..........

Latest big news!! China announced its enactment of the anti-seccession law and who makes the most noise again? Naturally pro-independence activists in Taiwan and USA. Whilst reading one article on the law, there was this statement made by the White House spokesman Scott McClellan which goes like this, "We don't believe anyone should be taking unilateral steps or make unilateral changes that increases tensions." This is a really contradictory statement made by the White House, especially since they have shown the willingness to take unilateral steps (defying the United Nations) and make unilateral changes to increase tensions (in the Middle East as what they did to Iraq now). I still wonder how the White House can issue such an irresponsble statement. Though I hope for peace in Asia, I do believe that for Taiwan to really prosper, the best way is to join with China as the reunification brings about several advantages. Think of this like a merger and acquisition, whereby companies merge to become more efficient and beat out their competitors. Similarly, Taiwan need not fear any military attack once it unifies with China but it will also provide more opportunities for their citizens. The only drawback is perhaps there might be control over democratic parties, which I believe the US generously funded. Well the one who gets the worse deal in the unification is perhaps US as they will lose an ally and have one less country where they can sell weapons to. Japan also stands to lose its premier status in the region as China+Taiwan+Hong Kong serves as a major economic behemoth.

My messy Lab Bench! Posted by Hello

Today was a really bad day all in all! Felt really lethargic in the morning and got involved in a small accident today...... it resulted in a slight dent in the bumper of my Honda Civic. Damn unlucky really!!!!!! I know I am gonna sell off the car soon once I graduate but still.... it has served me well throughout this 4 years, at least it didn't stall halfway thru PIE or ECP (touch wood!)
No labwork today, just writing report since I progressed very little during the weekends. Moreover I have yet to really study for my M463 quiz on wednesday...... Really weekends haven't really helped much for me. Had to book the hotel for my uncle arriving from Shanghai too and the problem is the travel agent just suck, they told me last minute they couldn't get a room for him and I had to search all over again, and in the end got only 2 nites for him in Royal Plaza. I do hope that he could get the 3rd nite too! Here's for a better tomorrow!

View of NTU library from my lab  Posted by Hello

Went to Prima Taste for lunch just now and had their new menu offering - Bak Kut Teh. For those of you out there who doesn't know what it is, its actually an Asian delicacy where pork ribs are simmered in soup with peppercorn, and other herbs. Seems like Prima Taste doesn't just serve delicious Laksa but their Bak Kut Teh is just as great!
Finally I also bought "Angels and Demons", also by Dan Brown. His more famous novel - The Da Vinci Code influenced me to get his other novels. The best part of Da Vinci code, I think is the way the book induce you to think about certain things in life and provides you a different perspective on life and religion. Moreover this interesting story has lots of mystery and suspense intertwined with bits of facts, history, and philosophy which makes it such a good read! However one downturn was the ending which was sort of hypothetical and a bit of an anticlimax, but that could be because the whole story was just so damn good!
Now, I have to plan my time between this novel and my FYP man......

Fireworks in Shanghai during CNY Posted by Hello

New Post and new settings to my blog. Also added the picture of the fireworks in Shanghai during CNY which was amazing and spectacular. And this was considering that I have seen even the Esplanade Opening Fireworks.
The late post was due mainly to my project commitments for the past 2 weeks. Finally after rushing through all the experiments, I have completed most of the tests required and now is the report writing part.... which is progressing way too slow! And I have no choice but to extend it by one week ...... Moreover the Fluids Eng. CA/Quiz is coming soon and I have yet to do the tutorials, wonder why is it undergraduates now have so many things to do yet so little time!
Yesterday I went to the IT Show in Suntec to meet up with Mona who's got a temp job as a sales promoter and Sonny who's just plain slacking off his report writing =P! The place was packed and it was really crowded..... I dun think I will go to the IT show again ..... Oh and they are having Cheerobics at Suntec today - a nationwide cheerleading competition organized by NTU's Cultural Activities Club. I went for their event last year and it was good but might just skip this year's one I guess due to time constraint!
