Today is James' last day of work before he moves on to a new career. Well he has been with Prof Lim for around 5 years already, but he will be missed by all the guys and gals at BMERC. Especially since he has been such a great mentor and friend during my FYP years! Here I would like to sincerely thanks James and wish him all the best to your future career! Had a great ending to today by having a superb photo shoot at the Quad area in NTU and James was such a professional photographer, now maybe I might consider inviting him to be my wedding photographer if I do get married in the future! After the photo shoot, we had dinner at Centre Stage and naturally Imperial Treasure La Mian Xiao Long Bao was our choice and it was a fitting one to introduce Sidney to a superb Chinese cuisine. Actually it was only starting this year that I got to know this research staff that originates from France and he's a really nice guy - the only regret was not being able to know him earlier on!
Now for family stuffs, finally my sis got her Study Permit and is returning to Singapore from Vancouver. She should be reaching on the 6th of June if all goes well, one day before my parents arrive. Now I just can't wait for that day to come! The slight pity was that my grandmother will be unable to turn up for my convocation since she will be departing for the States on the 4th, but I have taken some pictures with her on my graduation gown and hopes to print it out some time this weekend.

Can't sleep, so online I was writing this blog of mine. Just completed the downloads of Naruto episode 139 and 140. Now I gotta clear my hard disk fast and then burn more DVDs. My laptop is running out of space storing all those animes that I am accumulating in preparation for my trip back home in Lampung. These animes will be my saviour in a town with no broadband, no Kinos, no decent malls, no decent entertainment outlets - it's practically a village by my standards.

Yay! We have graduated!! Posted by Hello

July is coming, and of course it will be a time of celebration for me! There's the birthday celebrations, convocation, graduation dinner and holidays to look forward to! Just collected my official transcript today and picked up some graduation goodies such as the plaque with the degree, the gown/suit bag, the MAE yearbook, photos to be taken on convocation day and invitation to join the NTU alumni club. Still considering regarding the latter though since the monthly fees is not worth it unless you are a frequent user of the club. The facilities seems interesting though.
Another good thing happened today and that was the jump in the prices of MediaAsia shares. I guess it must be due to the good performance of Initial D in the Asian Market. Furthermore there are talks of a sequel. It is definitely looking good for the company! Initial D is a really nice movie, especially for all car nuts out there!

Its a brand new week and I am looking forward to watch 2 nice movies at the theatres this week, one is Batman Begins and the other is Initial D. The latter movie is the one I have been awaiting since last month. And I have yet to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith.... Have to catch it fast in the movies, but the problem is I haven't been free this coming week. First up is going to the gown studio for the fitting of my convocation gown. That one has to be settled fast so that there is still opportunity for me to take photos before convocation with my graduating colleagues too!
Been busy with updating my report for submission of a journal paper. Just seems cool for the first time having any part in the journal to be published in a periodical. Maybe I am still in the process of growing up... but I have applied for my 1st real job, at IE Singapore, a government supported organization to promote business development for Singapore companies. No replies or anything from them yet though, but I will be keeping a lookout for consulting companies, ever since I found the mock interview on the McKinsey & Co. website.
Currently, have been preoccupied with 3 things at home - watching Prince of Tennis (gotta like the Seigaku Tennis Team) , got a new HK Drama titled 'War and Beauty' and of course 4 beauties are acting there including Charmaine Shieh but I find myself liking the other character acting as the chief palace maid. Lastly I have gotten a new book from Kinokuniya and its Japanese (translated to English)... the title is 'Battle Royale'. Sounds familiar? Well its one of the more controversial books out there about a class of 3rd year high school students being forced to kill one another till one is left, but the interesting part is how the author potrays human thoughts and actions. Recommended read even though I have just read the beginning. Not for the weak or faint hearted though.... be warned!

The BMERC enlarged family! Posted by Hello

Back from my trip to Jakarta, and it was a good and rewarding trip for me! Actually the main purpose for the trip was because I miss my parents and it was also in time for my cousin's wedding party at Jakarta! Took this opportunity to meet up with my cousins, nieces and nephews and my aunts, uncles and all the other relatives. I also got to enjoy nice Indonesian food that I have missed for quite some time. Another good part was that I got to buy the Dynasty Warriors 5 game that I had wanted for quite some time. Already started to play with it yesterday and it was a blast~~~Haha! and the unexpected thing was I also got to buy a new Mercedes CLS 1:43 scale model from the Mercedes Benz Shop in Changi. This was bought from the redeemed GST refund vouchers from my Zegna Suit so I got it free, yay! Now I am completely obsessed with the new CLS ever since I saw a black CLS350 along Jakarta's roads. Superb new car seen real life and the interior is stunning too~~~
Today was my 2nd day back at work and updated the BPE Cluster website with the new NTU logo, which the Office of Corp Communications changed! Moreover, I exchanged ideas with my cousin in Shanghai who is also currently doing a website for his company, Fosun Holdings. Seems an impressive Chinese private company with stakes in various industries. Now we can really see that private enterprises in China is starting to go global, just look at Lenovo, Huawei, Chery, Haier and others!
At the end of the day, Prof. Lim allowed us to hold a gathering at his house with some catering and it was fun chatting and playing around with the colleagues at BMERC! Definitely one of the finer moments of my temp. job at NTU BMERC.
